Why Plan Ahead?

Planning ahead is one of the most meaningful gifts you can leave your family.

It allows you to make your wishes known, reduce stress for loved ones, and ensure important decisions are handled with clarity and care.

Pre-planning can help you:

  • Make your personal wishes clear

  • Reduce difficult decisions for family members

  • Create peace of mind for yourself and others

  • Explore available planning and payment options in advance

How Pre-

Planning Works

Pre-planning doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

Our team will guide you through the process step by step and help you record the decisions that matter most to you. You can choose as much or as little as you’d like to plan in advance.

This may include:

  • Burial or cremation

  • Type of service

  • Preferred location

  • Personal touches like music, readings, or themes

  • Final disposition preferences

What You Can Decide

  • Service Preferences Choose whether you prefer burial or cremation, and what kind of service feels most meaningful to you.

  • Personal Details You may choose music, readings, themes, obituary details, and other personal touches.

  • Family Guidance Pre-planning helps your loved ones understand your wishes and know how to carry them out.

  • Important Information You can also organize the personal and family details needed to make arrangements easier when the time comes.

Start The Conversation

Sometimes planning ahead begins with a simple conversation. Talking with your loved ones about your values, memories, and what matters most can be one of the most meaningful parts of the planning process.

These conversations can help your family better understand:

  • How you want to be remembered

  • What matters most to you

  • The stories, people, and moments that shaped your life

You don’t have to have every answer today—just starting the conversation can be a meaningful first step.

You can begin by thinking through your preferences, such as burial or cremation, the type of service you’d like, and any personal details you want included. Our team can guide you through the rest.

What information do I need to get started?

Basic personal information is helpful, along with any preferences you already know.

If you’re unsure about certain decisions, that’s completely okay—we can help.

Do I have to pay in advance?

Yes. Your preferences can be reviewed and updated if things change over time.

Can I transfer plans from another funeral home?

Yes. If you already have plans elsewhere, we can help you understand your options.

A Personal Note From the Director

I'm Jay R. Didericksen

Being a funeral director has never been just a career to me—it’s something I take to heart. Since 2010, I’ve had the privilege of serving families during some of the most difficult and meaningful moments of their lives. What drew me to this work, and what continues to inspire me every day, is the connection I share with the families in our community.

The greatest reward comes long after the services are over—when I see a family again, share a hug, and remember their loved one together. Those moments remind me why this work matters so much.

My wife, Camille, and I are deeply grateful to be raising our family here and to be part of this community we know and love. These past several years have strengthened our appreciation for faith, family, and the relationships that truly matter. It is an honor to serve the same community that has shaped our lives.
At Didericksen Memorial Funeral Home & Cremations, our team is committed to caring for your family as if it were our own. We provide personalized services that reflect the life, values, and wishes of your loved one. From the first call to the final details, we are here to guide you with compassion, clarity, and respect—helping you create a meaningful and lasting tribute.
