Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

A traditional funeral service often includes several meaningful moments, such as a visitation (viewing), a formal funeral ceremony, and a graveside service. Some families choose to include all three, while others select only the elements that feel right for them. We'll guide you through each option and help you create a service that honors your loved one in the most meaningful way.
No, you do not have to include every element. Some families choose a full traditional service with visitation, funeral, and graveside, while others prefer a more simple approach. We will help you decide what feels most appropriate based on your wishes, traditions, and circumstances.
A visitation is a more informal time for family and friends to gather, offer support, and say goodbye. A funeral service is a more structured ceremony that may include readings, music, or spiritual elements to honor and celebrate your loved one's life.
In most cases, arrangements are made within a few days after a passing. If a death has occurred, we are available 24/7 to guide you through the next steps and help you make arrangements without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
Absolutely. Every service can be personalized to reflect your loved one's life, values, and personality. This may include music, photos, tribute videos, special readings, or meaningful personal touches that make the service truly unique.
That's completely okay. Many families come to us feeling unsure of the next steps. Our role is to gently guide you through every decision, answer your questions, and help you create a service that feels right for you and your family.

A Personal Note From the Director

Jay R. Didericksen, Funeral Director

I'm Jay R. Didericksen

Being a funeral director has never been just a career to me, it's something I take to heart. Since 2010, I've had the privilege of serving families during some of the most difficult and meaningful moments of their lives.

The greatest reward comes long after the services are over, when I see a family again, share a hug, and remember their loved one together. Those moments remind me why this work matters so much.

My wife, Camille, and I are deeply grateful to be raising our family here and to be part of this community we know and love. At Didericksen Memorial Funeral Home & Cremations, our team is committed to caring for your family as if it were our own. From the first call to the final details, we are here to guide you with compassion, clarity, and respect.
